Players demonstrated incredible tactic and willpower as they battled for top positions in their groups. The Individual Championship has already proven to be a highly competitive event, with every point fought for fiercely.
The women’s matches kicked off the day with a dramatic clash in Group A between Trochetia Mauritius WT-1 and Trochetia Mauritius WT-3. Both teams played with great energy, but Trochetia Mauritius WT-3 emerged victorious in this closely contested encounter. Meanwhile, Tunisia’s Les Aigles de Carthage WT-1 showed why they are among the favorites, delivering back-to-back wins in Group B. They first defeated Trochetia Mauritius WT-2 in a dominant performance and later triumphed against Uganda’s Shuttle Cranes in another impressive display. In Group A, South Africa’s Petite Proteas WT lived up to their reputation as a strong team, securing two commanding wins against Trochetia Mauritius WT-3 and Trochetia Mauritius WT-1. Their sharp strategies and excellent teamwork were on full display, earning them well-deserved victories.
The men’s matches provided equally intense action. In Group A, South Africa’s Strikers MT made a strong start, defeating Tunisia’s Les Aigles de Carthage MT-1 with a display of precise shots and excellent defense. However, their momentum was halted by Trochetia Mauritius MT-2, who brought their A-game and won a hard-fought match. In Group B, Uganda’s Shuttle Benders continued their impressive form, securing wins against both Trochetia Mauritius MT-1 and the Coelacanthe de Comoros. The Ugandan team showed great confidence and skill, making them a strong contender for the title. Mauritius bounced back with determination in their second match, as Trochetia Mauritius MT-1 earned a well-deserved win over Comoros, delighting the local supporters.
The players also shared their thoughts and emotions after their matches. Khediri Elaa from Tunisia expressed her excitement and satisfaction during an interview with BCA TV. She said:
“We are going well so far as we managed to win our matches and are advancing in the next rounds. We hope to be able to keep the momentum going and to be able to clinch the Gold medal. The competition is tough, but we are confident in our abilities and are looking forward to the next matches.”
Uganda’s Maliha Musa, fresh from her team’s victory in the Team Event Championship, shared her motivation to achieve more success. She said:
“After winning the Gold Medal in the Team Event Championship, we are more motivated than ever to bring the maximum number of medals in the individual Championships. We hope that we continue with the same determination and focus. We know the challenges ahead, but our aim is clear – to bring home the Gold Medal and make our country proud.”
