One of BCA’s priority is to encourage women participation in badminton and sports in general in order to achieve gender equality in sports. Badminton can be one powerful tool to promote gender equality and thus empowering more women to practice the sport.
The BCA Women in Badminton Commission has been working tirelessly to come up with strategies, policies and activities to achieve more women participation at any level, including the players, officials, coaches and other stakeholders.
To reward the contribution of women to the development of sport in Badminton, BCA has launch the ‘African Women in Badminton Award’ in 2018. This award will be given on a yearly basis and presented at each Annual General Meeting.
