By the time the afternoon session began at Aero Beach, only four teams remained in the race for the Africa AirBadminton Championships Team Relay title.
After a demanding morning of knockout action, Egypt, Burkina Faso, Benin and Mauritius returned to the courts at 15:00 local time in Entebbe, knowing that a place in the final was now within reach.
On Court 1, Egypt faced Burkina Faso, with the top-seeded Egyptian side looking to continue its strong run in the competition. Egypt made a fast start in the men’s doubles, taking the opening stage 15–6 before extending their advantage to 30–11 in the women’s doubles.
Burkina Faso continued to battle for every point, but Egypt had built a lead that proved difficult to overcome. They completed the tie 45–22 to secure their place in the final.
The second semi-final between Benin and Mauritius was a much tighter contest.
Mauritius kept the pressure on from the beginning, but Benin managed to take a narrow 15–14 lead after the opening men’s doubles. The Beninese side then gradually increased the difference, leading 30–20 before moving further ahead at 45–33.
Mauritius refused to give up and continued to challenge until the final points, but Benin held on to complete a 60–52 victory and book their place in the final.
The result set up a meeting between the No. 1 seed Egypt and No. 2 seed Benin for the Team Relay title.
Both teams had come through a demanding knockout stage and were now one tie away from becoming champions at Aero Beach. With two of the strongest teams in the draw meeting in the final, the stage was set for another exciting contest on the sand.
