After four days of intense competition on the sand at Aero Beach, the Africa AirBadminton Championships 2026 reached its final chapter on 19 September, with five individual titles decided in Entebbe.
The finals brought together players who had survived the pressure of the knockout stages, with several encounters going down to the wire.
In the Men’s Doubles, Egypt’s A. Abdelsattar and Ashraf A. overcame Benin’s Oswald Fano-Dosh and Carlos Kpanou in a five-game battle to claim the title. Both pairs had already survived demanding semi-finals, with Egypt defeating NOC-Kenya’s Sammy Mdogo Sikoyo and Edwin Akwanyi 3–2, while Benin had edged Egypt’s A. Abdelsattar and Ashraf A. 3–2 in the other semi-final.
The Women’s Doubles title went to Burkina Faso’s L. Belem and S. Maiga, who defeated Benin’s Anna Gladys Akakpo and Flora Kpogbemabou 3–2 in another closely fought final.
There was a special moment for the hosts in the Mixed Doubles. Uganda’s Denis Mukasa and Gladys Mbabazi battled through another five-game contest to defeat Egypt’s Aly Ashraf and Noda Sherif 3–2, giving Uganda an individual gold medal on home soil.
In the Men’s Triples, Benin completed a strong campaign as Oswald Fano-Dosh, Carlos Kpanou, Julien Totin and Preferet Adomahou secured the title after defeating Mauritius in the final.
The final day also produced one of the biggest stories of the championships in the Women’s Triples. NOC-Kenya’s Jacinta Nyaranda Sengera, Blessings Buyanzi and Yvonne Mwikali defeated Egypt 3–0 to claim gold in their first appearance at the Africa AirBadminton Championships.

From Uganda’s home triumph to NOC-Kenya’s historic breakthrough, Benin’s success in the triples and the hard-fought battles involving Egypt and Burkina Faso, the individual events showed the growing depth and competitiveness of AirBadminton across Africa.
As the action came to an end at Aero Beach, the 2026 championships had produced a new group of continental champions—and plenty of memories from the sand in Entebbe.
