As part of our ongoing commitment to the development of badminton coaches, the Badminton Confederation of Africa (BCA) is delighted to announce the organisation of a BWF Level 1 Coach Training coupled with the BWF Level 1 Para badminton Coach Training. This initiative aligns with the BCA’s strategic plan to build the capacity of coaches who are important players in the development of badminton and Para badminton players.
Details of the training:
Date: December 6 -16, 2025
Location: Dakar, Senegal
For the organization of this training, the BCA will select six (6) coaches to take part. A scholarship covering full-board accommodation and airfare as well as local transportation for the duration of the training will be offered to selected candidates. We invite each Member Association to apply with two candidates, one male and one female.
Eligibility criteria:
Be between 20 and 45 years old at the start of the course.
Mastery of the execution of all the basic shots of badminton by imposing various trajectories on them. Ability to lead a training session.
Experience in training and/or teaching Shuttle Time.
Strong communication skills (good level of French expression).
In-depth understanding of the rules of badminton.
Relevant general knowledge of badminton and sports science.

Additional Requirement:
Submit videos demonstrating the execution of basic badminton strikes as follows:
1st video: execute the fore-short shots (counter-drop shot, lift, forehand and backhand attack at the net) using adapted movement models.
2nd video: execute shots from the baseline (clearance, smash and forehand drop shot) using adapted movement patterns.
3rd video: play a 7-point game against an opponent.
