In line with its development strategy, BCA will be organizing a BWF Coach Education Level 2 Course in Gaborone, Botswana, from 17 to 24 February 2026.
For this purpose, BCA is launching a scholarship programme for eight (8) candidates to attend the course. Selected candidates may be granted either:
- 100% scholarship, covering airfare and accommodation on a full-board basis, or
- 50% scholarship, covering either airfare or accommodation on a full-board basis.

| Recommended Candidate Profile |
Member Associations are strongly encouraged to nominate candidates with the strongest profiles, as outlined below:
- Each Member Association can nominate 2 coaches (One male and one female), BCA will select only one candidate.
- Possess a solid academic background, as the Level 2 program is advanced and includes topics such as anatomy and physiology, biomechanical principles, physical fitness testing, training methods, training parameters, FITT principles, and annual periodization planning.
- Hold a valid BWF Level 1 Coaching Certificate.
- Demonstrate strong communication skills in English (spoken and written), including badminton-specific terminology.
- Preference will be given to active coaches, particularly those working at the national level (junior or senior). Active regional-level coaches who have produced quality players may also be considered.
- Be available to attend the entire duration of the course.
- Be willing and able to complete all pre-course tasks.
- Be available for an interview, if required.

- Each application must be officially endorsed by the Member Association to be considered.
- Candidates are required to submit unedited videos in support of their application, in accordance with the selection guidelines (attached).

The videos must clearly show the coach personally playing and performing the skills, as follows:
- Video 1: Forecourt strokes using multi-shuttle feeding (net shot, lift, net kill), played straight and cross-court.
- Video 2: Rear-court strokes (clear, smash, drop shot), played straight and cross-court.
- Video 3: Full-court singles game to 7 points.
Candidates will be assessed based on their technical execution, movement patterns, and overall playing ability. Submission of all required videos by the deadline is mandatory to validate the application.
