We are pleased to announce the organization of a BWF Level 1 Coaching Course exclusively for women, scheduled for 18–25 November 2025 in Cape Town – South Africa.
This programme is part of BCA’s commitment to empower women in badminton and expand the pool of qualified female coaches across Africa.
Financial Support
- BCA will cover economy round trip flight tickets, accommodation on a shared room basis, meals and local transport in Cape Town.
- Federations/participants will cover visa fees, personal expenses, vaccination and travel insurance.

- You will be allowed to nominate one female coach.
- The coach must personally fill in the online application form through the link https://forms.gle/hXAetMnoN6PeWjoU7
- We are also requesting your member association to endorse the application form by sending an email/letter in support of the application. Letter must be sent to a.reda@badmintonafrica.com. Please mention the full name of your candidate in your email/letter.
- Kindly note that any application not endorsed won’t be accepted. Also, kindly note that BCA may proceed to interview candidates to select the best profile.
- Candidates must send the video to support their application. Videos must be sent to BCA Development Manager at a.reda@badmintonafrica.com or WhatsApp +201008918829.
- Deadline to Submit the videos is the 15th September 2025. Kindly note that the video must not be edited. The videos must be recorded as follows:
- 1stvideo: practice of the forecourt strokes using multi-shuttle feeding (Net Shot, lift, Net kill); playing straight and cross court.
- 2ndvideo: practice of rear court stroke (Clear, Smash, Dropshot).
- 3rdvideo: playing a short game of 7 points.
As part of the selection process, candidates will be assessed based on the execution of strokes and movement patterns. To facilitate this assessment, we kindly request that all applicants submit videos demonstrating their skills within the prescribed deadline (15 september 2025). These videos will play a crucial role in validating your application. Failure to submit the required videos will result in the disqualification of your application.
Below you will find the guidelines which will help you in the nomination of the candidates and the application process.
- Must be female, actively involved in badminton coaching within her federation.
- Minimum 1–2 years of coaching at national or club level.
- Ability to understand and communicate in English (course language).
- Commitment from the federation to support the coach after certification.
- Commitment from the coach to continue developing the sport and to support her federation following completion of the course.
- Each federation may nominate one candidate (priority to federations with limited certified female coaches).
- BCA reserves the right to conduct interviews with nominated candidates as part of the final selection process.
- Selected candidates must complete assigned pre-course tasks before travelling.
After selection, the coach shall complete pre course tasks which will be communicated by the BCA Expert later.
