From 5th to 12th March 2020, Tutor and BCA Regional Development Officer Bernadin Bokpè and BCA Regional Development Officer Ahmed Reda carried out the BWF Level 1 coaching course , for-seeing the development and improvement of the level of Badminton in the mentioned countries. The outcome of the training saw the new coaches learn from the BCA Development Officers on how to plan and conduct good training sessions in their countries.
Conducting Badminton training requires certain specific set of skills, therefore the BWF Level 1 Coaching Course enables participants to acquire Badminton coaching knowledge across the African Continent. The BWF Level 1 coaching course held in Harare , Zimbabwe , saw 7 participants from Lesotho and Zimbabwe gather new knowledge on the proper way of conducting Badminton training in their respective countries.
Representing Lesotho, Lerato Lepheane thanked the Zimbabwe Badminton Association and Dr. Leshota Moneong, President of the Lesotho Badminton Association, who gave him the opportunity to attend the course. “The course was tough but good. Now, i’m able to participate as well to the development of Badminton in my country”, said Lerato.
As for Paul Kopolo from Zimbabwe, he thanked the BCA ,BWF and the Zimbabwe Badminton Association for the opportunity to learn and use this knowledge to the benefit of badminton in his country.
