The All Africa Mixed Team Championships came to an end in spectacular fashion at Japoma Gymnasium in Douala, Cameroon, with Algeria claiming their first-ever title in this category. Facing Mauritius in the final, Algeria secured a 3-1 victory, adding another milestone to their already impressive record.
Ranked No. 1 in Africa for the BWF Team Event Rankings, Algeria has been a dominant force, having won the Thomas Cup and qualified for the TUC Finals four times in a row. This new achievement marks a historic moment for their team, as they now prepare to represent Africa at the prestigious Sudirman Cup in China this May.
With a full squad of six men and six women, Algeria had the advantage of rotating players throughout the competition. This depth allowed them to stay fresh and maintain their high level of play. Their preparation, planning, and team strategy have set a benchmark for African badminton, making them an inspiration for other teams looking to reach the top.
