The 2019 Uganda International and the Kenya International tournaments were among our highlights for the month of February & March. Both tournaments which featured players from over 20 countries produced very exciting moments. The tournaments gave the local talent a chance to compete with highly ranked players in preparation of the Tokyo 2020 Olympic qualification period.
The sensational pair of Godwin Olofua and Anouluwapo Juwon from Nigeria were the winners of the men’s doubles title beating the combined pair of Mr Siddharth of India and Ahmed Salah from Egypt. The Women doubles title was clinched by Miss Doha Hany and Hadia Hosny from Egypt, Miss Samin Abedkhojasteh of Iran and Domou Amro of Jordan came in second. Howard Shu and Paula Lynn of USA produced an electrifying performance to beat their compatriots Vinson Chiu and Breanna chi for the Mixed Doubles title.
