1) BCA Virtual AGM 2021
In preparation of the virtual AGM on 19 June 2021 at 14hrs (Mauritius Time GMT + 4), we have come up with a document (attached) providing all information on the AGM. Also attached is the Delegate Nomination Form which we will request you to complete as soon as possible.
Please note that the List of Candidates for the BCA Elections will be published no later than 7 May 2021. All information on the AGM can be accessed on our website.
2) 3rd Africa Women in Badminton Award 2020
The BCA is pleased to announce that the recipient of the 2020 AWIBA is Miss. Hadia Hosny of Egypt. The latter has performed tremendously well, as an athlete, in 2020, with 2 gold and 2 bronze medals in the All Africa Senior Championships 2020. Together with her partner Doha Hany, they achieved an unprecedented BWF Ranking, by any African player or pair, of 35 in the world. With this performance, Miss Hosny is almost certain of securing a third participation at the Olympics. She has also been involved on the social and political level in her country. In 2020, she was elected to serve her constituency in the Egyptian Parliament as a representative of the youth and women. In addition, she is a BWF Coach Level 2, Shuttle Time Tutor, head of her academy in Egypt where mostly girls are trained and holds other roles as well.
