The BCA School Camp and All Africa School Championships regrouped 41 players from 6 different African countries (DR Congo , Lesotho, South Africa, Tunisia, Zambia and Zimbabwe) as participants from 11th to 19th of December 2019, at Lusaka, Zambia. The training camp which took place during 3 days included practical sessions , fun games and workshops about the different topics mentioned above.
A host of topics were discussed during the BCA School Camp on how to deal with sports injuries with emphasis on the importance of nutrition , tackling doping in sports and highlighting the accomplishments of Egypt’s own Hadia Hosny, as role model, in the world of African badminton, participating in Beijing and London Olympics and winning the 2010 Women’s singles title at the African Championships.
The All Africa School Championship saw both men’s team and individual events dominated by Zambia , represented by Edward Mwanza from Ndola Basic School , as for the women’s category , South Africa surpassed the rest with Megan De Beer from Horeskool Jim Fouche school winning the girl’s singles.
